Here is a video that Simply Vallarta put out recently that addresses the problems being caused by inaccurate and misleading media reports about Mexico’s safety.
Although there are real issues here in Mexico involving the ongoing battle for control to supply the drug habits north of the border, one also needs to consider that the majority of the country is perfectly safe and life goes on as usual for all of us who live and work here daily (I’ve been living here for 12 years now in the heart of the Copper Canyon). For example; Washington D.C. has 4 times more crime than Mexico City and people still visit it and live there don’t they?
I won’t bore you with tons of statistics here and certainly don’t wish to get into a debate but I do think this video is a humorous way of pointing out how many people do irrationally fear Mexico. We hope you enjoy it and that it helps people to see how the reported news is not always accurate, and how it can be very dangerous in leading uninformed individuals to spread incorrect information.
