Kayaking Copper Canyon
All of Amigo Trail's packages (with the exception of the Canyon Quickie and Canyon Special) include a kayaking exploration on the El Fuerte river in the Copper Canyon, which aims to add depth (literally and figuratively) to Amigo Trail's trip offerings.
We will guide you on a kayak trip on the El Fuerte River. You will see the many beautiful, exotic and rare species of birds that inhabit the area. Some of these species include the russet-crowned Motmot, the Squirrel Cuckoo, the yellow Social Flycatcher, the dignified Great Egret, and the illustrious Tiger Heron, just to name a few!
Amigo Trails is pleased to offer different customized trips according to your skill level; with Sit-On-Top styles for beginners which help people maintain their balance and assist quick recovery in the event of a tip-over, and open seating styles for more advanced kayakers. We use Ocean Yak Boards, Ocean Scramblers for all trips, with Ocean Malibus available for those who wish to ride tandem.
While kayaking Copper Canyon, we will be sure to stop and show you the ancient and mysterious petroglyphs at Cerro de la Mascara. These petroglyphs are located in the mystical "Secret Forest" of Sinaloa, which you will be taken on a guide through to get to your destination.
Please note that our trips are entirely customizable, so you can add or subtract different aspects of Amigo Trails' offerings at your leisure.
