Copper Canyon is located in a place inhabited by the famous Raramuri people, who are world-renowned for their prowess in endurance running. They grow up from a young age playing a simple game all day with their friends: kicking a wooden ball between their alpine villages, as a sort of game. By the time they grow up, many of them compete in races that are as long as 100 miles, and laugh at the minuscule accomplishments of marathoners, whose mere 26.2 miles is not even respected by the Raramuri as a "real" race. These people will be among your guides (who from the very beginning will be bilingual, speaking English and Spanish), and they will also be providing their sumptuous indigenous fare for you to eat as well!
