Charming 3 bedroom cabin in Creel, an Alpine village in the heart of the Copper Canyon for sale or exchange. All log cabin construction with some laja (rock) floors, wooden beams and logs in the ceilings, 2 story, dual-sided gas fireplace, full recently remodeled kitchen with unfinished pantry, bodega (storage room), laundry room, study, living room, dining room, 1 bathroom. Roof is made of tin so that you can hear the rain when it falls. Gas stove and boiler is used. Electricity is 110.
Garden, grass and landscaping. 2 willow trees, 2 peach and 2 apple trees along with a cherry tree and large pine tree fill the yard.Tons of flowers and herbs and a nice amount of grass.
A large wall surrounds the property that sits on a corner near the railroad tracks, inside city limits and 4 blocks from the main plaza. It is zoned residential and commercial. This is a cabin and is not for tall people. Anyone over about 5'9'' will not be comfortable in this house as it has wood beam ceilings that are quite low (see photos).
We use this cabin for vacations only now and will be moving this coming year and won't be able to make it to Creel so frequently, so that is why we wish to sell it or exchange it. This cabin has oodles of possibilities and we'd be happy to share with you our vision of adding on a master bedroom/bath, solarium and small apartment as well.
The cabin is perfect as it is, but some light investment and work would only add to its charm.
The Raramuri/Tarahumara Indians live in this region and the town is terribly charming and picturesque. The town of Creel has a population of 10,000 people with grocery stores, gas station and all normal services available. The closest major shopping area is Cuauhetemoc, just 2 hours away where there is a Walmart, other large grocery stores, movie complex, etc.... 
While Chihuahua city, 3.5 hours away by car, 5 hours by train or bus where you'll find a Walmart, Home Depot, Office Depot, Sam's Club, etc....An international airport is being constructed just now in Creel as it is a major tourist destination in the Copper Canyon. Batopilas is 5 hours away by car, Divisadero is one hour away by car and Guachochi is only 3 hours by car. The famous Chepe train line runs through Creel and traverses the Copper Canyon.
